Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer experiences a notable reduction in his responsibilities, relinquishing several departments to Public Relations Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra after the restructuring of the Punjab Cabinet. Hayer is now exclusively incharge of Sports and Youth Welfare department.
Expressing dissatisfaction earlier this year after the reshuffling of his Health minister portfolio, Jouramajra now assumes crucial roles, taking charge of the Mines and Geology departments, as well as Water Resources. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann retains control over the Science and Technology portfolio.
This marks the second adjustment to Hayer's portfolio, having previously managed Higher and School Education. The reorganization, proposed by Chief Minister Mann and sanctioned by Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, signifies a strategic repositioning of ministerial duties within the Aam Aadmi Party-led government. Jouramajra, now the fourth Irrigation minister in the state during AAP's 20-month rule, shoulders significant responsibilities in a department marked by a history of ministerial changes.
