Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann rules out an extension for liquor vendor contractors beyond March 31, 2022.  As a result of this, liquor will not become cheap in Punjab on March 31.

As per information, Punjab’s government will soon come up with a plan to collect more revenue from liquor. But, this policy needs some more time in implementation. Due to this, liquor contractors in Punjab have been given an extension of three months.

According to sources, for these three months, a separate quota will be allotted to the contractors along with this the fees will also get increased. Due to this, liquor prices will not decline. Last year, their contracts have been renewed from April 1 onwards, so special discounts were given to buyers to mark the year ending sales.

Earlier, Kejriwal’s liquor model in Delhi invited long queues. Delhi wine shops came up with heavy discounts and special offers on branded alcohol in February. Spectacular offers like one box free with the purchase of another box had driven down the stock of cheap liquor at most Delhi contracts.
