In order to provide relief to the people of the state,the Punjab government has decided to bring down the ever-increasing sand prices.

Punjab CM Channi announced that sand will be sold at Rs5.5 from today onwards instead of its fixed price of Rs 9.

Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the ChiefMinister's Office said that as per new policy the sand and gravel shall beprovided to the public at Rs. 5.5/cft at mining sites including loadingcharges. Further, the royalty rate of ordinary clay and ordinary earth shall bedecreased from Rs. 10 per ton to Rs. 2.5 per ton in public interest.

Besides, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi announcedthat the state cabinet had accepted Advocate General APS Deol’s resignation.

Days, after Navjot Singh Sidhu took his resignation asPunjab Congress Chief back, on Tuesday Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit SinghChanni, announced that the state cabinet had accepted Advocate General APSDeol’s resignation.

36,000 contractual employees in Punjab will beregularised, according to the Punjab Cabinet. Chief Minister Charanjit SinghChanni told media persons on Tuesday, legislation in this regard will be tabledduring the Vidhan Sabha session.

He then said that from March 1, 2020, the minimum wagesof unskilled workers will be increased.
