In order to provide relief to the people of the state, the Punjab government has decided to bring down the ever-increasing sand prices.


Punjab CM Channi announced that sand will be sold at Rs 5.5 from today onwards instead of its fixed price of Rs 9.


Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister's Office said that as per new policy the sand and gravel shall be provided to the public at Rs. 5.5/cft at mining sites including loading charges. Further, the royalty rate of ordinary clay and ordinary earth shall be decreased from Rs. 10 per ton to Rs. 2.5 per ton in public interest.


Besides, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi announced that the state cabinet had accepted Advocate General APS Deol’s resignation.


Days, after Navjot Singh Sidhu took his resignation as Punjab Congress Chief back, on Tuesday Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, announced that the state cabinet had accepted Advocate General APS Deol’s resignation.


36,000 contractual employees in Punjab will be regularised, according to the Punjab Cabinet. Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi told media persons on Tuesday, legislation in this regard will be tabled during the Vidhan Sabha session.


He then said that from March 1, 2020, the minimum wages of unskilled workers will be increased.
