
The Punjab government has officially announced that April 10, 2025, will be a public holiday on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. The day marks the birthday of Lord Mahavir, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism.
According to the notice issued by the state government, government offices, schools, colleges, and state educational institutions will remain closed on the day.
After Mahavir Jayanti, there are a number of significant public holidays scheduled in Punjab this month:
Vaisakhi is a highly significant harvest festival, particularly in the state of Punjab. As every year, this year too a holiday is announced in the state. All government offices and banks will be closed on the occasion of the festival.
The Government of India offices and banks in Punjab will be closed on the Father of the Indian Constitution, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's Jayanti.
The day will be celebrated as a holiday, and all offices will be closed due to Good Friday.
On the Jyanti of Bhagwan Parshuram, the state will be a public holiday.
