In the case of Haryana where the population was 2.5 cr, they had 174 government colleges. Whereas there were 94 government colleges for the 1cr population of Himachal. Analyzing the number of government colleges in proportion to the population is unjust, thereby leaving behind the urgent requirement to install a minimum of 200 government colleges in the state of Punjab. Where in reality Punjab today has 68 government colleges only that are providing higher education across multiple disciplines. This deplorable condition somewhere justifies the reason behind the mass migration of youth from the state of Punjab. Admitting all this, the situation where private universities are more focused on prioritizing foreign students over local students makes the situation more miserable.
