
Chandigarh, April 5: To address the problems faced by thestudents regarding admission in government schools, the education departmenthas issued new guidelines and directed to the school heads not to refuse admission to any student on thebasis of documents.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the schooleducation department said that following the directions of the EducationMinister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla the department has issued these new guidelinesas many students were facing difficulties due to lack of documents. The Schoolheads have been instructed to enroll the students of class I to VIII on thebasis of age according to the RTI Act 2009. At the same time students withoutAadhaar card have also been asked to register and later produce their Aadhaar card.Apart from this, school heads are directed not to ask for the registrationnumber issued by the Punjab School Education Board from the students takingadmission in the class 9th to 12th.
Similarly the restriction of transfer certificate foradmission in government schools has been removed and school heads have beenasked to admit students at their own level. The school principals have beendirected to seek written consent from the parents of the students who do nothave the transfer certificate.
At the same time, instructions have been issued not tocompel the students to produce birth certificate to take admission in thegovernment schools. The school heads have been directed to admit these studentson provisional basis.
