The relationship between the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwan t Mann and the Punjab governor Banwari Lal Purohit seems to have heated up from the time he refused to join the special assembly. Now the claims have come up that Banwari Lal Purohit has rejected AAP’s decision to appoint Dr. Wander as BFUHS V-C as no consultation was held with him before the announcement was made of the new vice chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.

The Vice-Chancellor post of the university got vacant in July after Dr. Raj Bahadur resigned. The resignation was given by him in protest against the humiliation done by state health minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra, who made him lie down on a dirty bed during an inspection.

A senior government official in Punjab stated that the governor himself sought the panel of candidates to fill the post after the formation of a selected committee.

It was on Tuesday when the governor Banwari Lal Purohit rejected the decision of CM Man of appointing Dr. Gurpreet as the vice-chancellor. Instead of this, he appealed that the section committee should select a person for this post from the selected three candidates. The row started between the governor and CM Mann from the time Mr. Purohit refused to attend the special assembly as there was no provision for the same in the constitution.

For the moment, Dr. Wander is the HOD of cardiology at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana.
