In a massive development, the Punjab Government on Monday morning announced summer vacations in all schools of the state. Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains took to his X handle and made 'Punjab Schools Summer Vacations 2025' announcement. Minister Bains on X wrote, "In view of the heatwave in Punjab, all Government, Aided, Recognized, and Private schools in the state will remain closed for summer vacation from June 2 to June 30, 2025." Notably, the Union Territory of Chandigarh had already declared summer holidays earlier, while schools in Haryana are set to begin their vacations from June 1.
As per reports, there are about 18 thousand government schools in Punjab. About 30 lakh students are getting education in these schools. Apart from this, there are private schools. Meritorious schools and the School of Eminence have been opened by the government.
