Punjab Govt to deploy anti-drone systems at border amid IND-PAK escalating tensions

In a major development,  Punjab Government, led by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, has announced the deployment of anti-drone systems in the bordering areas. CM Bhagwant Singh Mann's decision to deploy high-tech systems along the bordering areas comes at a time when the relationship between India and Pakistan has hit rock bottom. Multiple ministers in the Pakistani Government are trembling and giving statements that India will carry out military operations against them in the aftermath of the Pahalgam Terror Attack. 

Anti-drone system in Punjab

The deployment of anti-drone systems along the Pakistan border is seen as a strategic decision by the Bhagwant Singh Mann government, It has been done to curb repeated incidents of drone intrusions from across the border. The use of tech in the border areasis  aimed at countering Pakistan’s attempts to smuggle arms and narcotics into Indian territory using drones. The anti-drone technology will enable Punjab Police and other security agencies to swiftly detect and neutralize any unauthorized aerial activity originating from across the border.

Officials have stated that the deployment of this advanced technology marks a historic shift in the way border security is managed in the region.

As per Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, that testing of the anti-drone system has been completed, and installations will begin shortly along the second line of defence across the border state. DGP Yadav said that after successful trials of the Anti-Drone System along the Indo-Pak Border, the Punjab Government is set to install the advanced system by September or October this year to intercept drones smuggling drugs and weapons.
