Punjab and Haryana court on Tuesday acquitted Gurmeet Ram Rahim, Chief of Dera Sacha Sauda in Ranjit Singh murder case. Ram Rahim has been acquitted in the murder case of former Dera manager Ranjit Singh. The High Court decided to cancel the decision of CBI regarding the case. In the Rajit Singh murder case, 5 convicts including Dera Mukhi were acquitted. It is a 22-year-old case, in which Dera Mukhi Ram Rahim was convicted by the CBI court after 19 years. Ram Rahim is currently in jail and has been sentenced in the journalist murder case and the Sadhvi rape case.
On 18th October 2021, the CBI in Panchkula awarded life imprisonment to Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim and 4 others. The CBI judge also slapped a fine of Rs. 31 lakhs on Ram Rahim regarding the case.
