The Punjab government has officially released the list of public and bank holidays for March 2025. With significant festivals and routine bank closure schedules, residents are encouraged to plan their activities to avoid inconvenience. 

Public holidays in Punjab (March 2025)

1. March 14, Friday: Holi 

The festival of colours, holi will be celebrated with enthusiasm across Punjab. All government officers, schools, and institutions will remain closed on this day to allow people to enjoy the festivities. 

2. March 31, Monday: Eid Ul Fitr 

Eid Ul Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, is a major festival for the Muslim community. It will be a public holiday in Punjab, with celebrations and gatherings taking place throughout the state.

In addition to the public holidays, banks in Punjab will observe closures as per the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) guidelines: 

• March 8, Saturday: second Saturday bank holiday 

As per RBI regulations, banks across Punjab will remain closed on the second Saturday of the month.  

• March 22, Saturday: fourth Saturday bank holiday 

According to RBI guidelines, banking institutions will also be closed on the fourth Saturday of March. 

Residents and businesses are advised to complete any banking or administrative tasks in advance to avoid disruptions. While digital banking services will remain operational, those requiring in-person banking services or government office visits should plan accordingly.
