Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday visited Jalandhar and addressed a public gathering at the PAP ground. In his address, Punjab CM Mann talked about the ongoing Yudh Vashiyan Virudh and also warned the Haryana Government over the ongoing water dispute. Apart from CM Mann, the event was attended by MLAs and ministers, including Punjab AAP chief Aman Arora.
On the issue of water, CM Mann targeted the Haryana government and said, "..murders take place in Punjab for water. Therefore, not a single drop of water from Punjab will be given to anyone. Along with this, a separate strategy has also been announced for action against drug smugglers."
Punjab CM Mann first thanked the party leaders and workers. After which CM Mann said, "We are going to fight a war against drugs by making a map. Similarly, we have made a map to end drug addiction. A plan was made to end drug addiction in Punjab, and all kinds of facilities were provided to get rid of drug addiction."
"It did take some time to lay the foundation. But now work will be done at a fast pace," said CM Mann, adding, "The village workers will have to guard the place. Every day, more than 200 Panchayats are taking such a decision that we are ready to go to any extent to end drug addiction. Along with this, an announcement was also made in the Gurudwara in many villages that if drugs are being sold anywhere, then we should be informed immediately."
CM Mann warns Haryana Govt over water dispute
On the latest water dispute, CM Mann said, "The water crisis has been put on us unjustly. We are ready to die for water. Haryana can do whatever it wants. We are emotional about water."
Thereafter, CM Mann narrated a story and said, "A farmer used to come with a shovel and a grass cutting hoe for watering. Once someone asked him why he does this, then he told that we get a limited time for water. If someone goes up and down for half a minute, the spade will come in handy."
"That is why murders have taken place in Punjab for water, how can we give water. We have not signed, nor have we made any agreement, then how can you take Punjab's water?" asked the Punjab CM.
"You cannot take Punjab's water by force, this cannot work. Earlier, it was available, but the previous ones are gone. They did not keep any account, so we keep account of everything," CM Mann added.
