Crisis regarding petrol and diesel in Punjab may likely worsen. According to the information received, the meeting of the Truck Union with the Punjab Government ended inconclusive.

It is important to note that there was a meeting with the Cabinet Sub Committee of the Truck Union in which nothing was achieved. During this time, the truck union has also warned of intensifying their struggles. The union also said that if this continues, the supply from all three oil depots in Punjab may stop. Tanker drivers will again go on a strike in Bathinda.

The union said that oil will not be supplied from oil depots in Bathinda and the protests will continue in Punjab. The union said that drivers and operators did not create ruckus in the meeting. But yesterday in Bathinda, some of their operators were sitting on a dharna on which the police lathi-charged.

Truck union leader Ajay Singla revealed ongoing discussions with union members to plan the next course of action. He affirmed a commitment to intensify the struggle, stating that truck drivers won’t retreat until a decision is made. Singla emphasized that drivers avoid accidents consciously, and the Act feels like an unjust law to them.

This is a result of the backlash from the drivers’ union on what the Punjab government is doing regarding the hit and run law implemented by the Central Government. the Punjab Government said that there is a meeting with the Central Government on January 31 regarding this.
