Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday said that the state needs leaders and not the dealers who had looted the state during their tenure. Addressing the gathering after dedicating 76 Aam Aadmi Clinics to the people here today, the Chief Minister said that these leaders were least concerned about Punjab and its people due to which they constantly ignored them. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he is aghast to learn the misdeeds of these leaders through the files drenched with the blood of people. He said that these leaders will be made accountable for their sins and every single penny from taxpayers money will be recovered from them.

Launching a scathing attack on former Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal, the Chief Minister said that during his stint the BJP leader had introduced e-stamps. But at the same time, he said that the former Finance Minister ordered printing of stamp papers worth Rs 1266 crore at a cost of Rs 57 crore. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this ‘experienced’ Finance Minister has brought a whopping loss of around Rs 60 crore to the state exchequer by his faulty vision.

The Chief Minister quipped that while his government has given jobs to more than 31,000 youth besides regularizing jobs of 12,710, the former Finance Minister acted as a stumbling block in jobs for youth and development of the state. He said that the BJP leader remained Finance Minister for nine years and always chanted the dialogue that the exchequer is empty. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the former Finance Minister suffered from ‘negative syndrome’ due to which the state has lagged behind in progress.

The Chief Minister said that it is heartening that people had routed out the leaders living in palaces or palatial houses and are known by the nomenclature of ‘Kaka ji’ and ‘Biba Ji’. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these opportunist leaders had never been with the people but they had always sided with those who suited their interests. He said that these leaders had always given preference to their own vested interests over that of the state and its people.

The Chief Minister said that people of the state have outrightly rejected the arrogant and haughty opposition by showing them the door. He said that frustrated by their debacle these leaders are now making baseless statements against the state government. Bhagwant Singh Mann further said that these leaders will be taught a befitting lesson by the common man in the coming times too.

The Chief Minister said that he is well versed with the problems of the state as he is frequently touring the state to mitigate the woes of people. He said that as much as he has travelled in Punjab in last 1.5 years his predecessors had not visited even during the last 15 years. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that they were least bothered about the people and state whereas his life is dedicated for the well being of people.
