To make the village drug-free, the Panchayat of Kaljharani village near Bhatinda has come up with a unique decree. If anyone is caught selling Chitta (intoxicants) in the village, they will break his legs and make them sit in the house. The villagers have also made it clear that the police and administration should not come in between the decision of the village and the panchayat.

On the other hand, SSP Bathinda, while announcing the order of the Panchayat, has sought a report from the DSP and the video of the whole incident has gone viral.

This decision came after the villagers caught a youth selling Chitta in the village. The Panchayat held its meeting and finally came up with this unique decree.  It was also decided that if anyone wanted to leave Chitta, the Panchayat would help him at its own expense.

SSP of Bathinda, Amneet Kaundal said that no person selling drugs in the district will be spared. Strict action will be taken against any police officer if it comes to the notice of loose action on the part of a police officer.
