The Election Commission of India (ECI) on late Saturday night announced voters turnout percentage of 7 states and 1 union territory where final phase of voting took place. Ater the buzz around exit polls settled down in India, the ECI in its official release announced 'The state wise approximate voter turnout at 11:45 pm'. It means the voters turnout percentage may change in the next few hours. Talking about Punjab Lok Sabha Elections 2024 voters turnout percentage, below is constituency wise rundown of voter percentage across the state as at 11:45 PM on June 1-

  1. Amritsar: 54.02 %
  2. Anandpur Sahib: 60.02%
  3. Bathinda: 67.97 %
  4. Faridkot: 60.79 %
  5. Fatehgarh Sahib: 61.18%
  6. Firozpur: 65.95 %
  7. Gurdaspur: 64.66 %
  8. Hoshiarpur: 58.10 %
  9. Jalandhar: 59.07 %
  10. Khadoor Sahib: 61.60 %
  11. Ludhiana: 57.18 %
  12. Patiala: 62.41 %
  13. Sangrur: 64.43%

Overall Punjab Voters Turnout percentage as counted till 11:45 PM was 58.33%. 


Highest voter turnout in Punjab was recorded in 1967 elections with 71.13%. It was also the year that saw Punjab churning out the highest voter turnout of the whole country. In 1967, India recorded a voter turnout of 61.04%. Lowest voter turnout ever recorded in 1992, when militants boycotted the elections in the presence of increasing terror activity, and to protest the government at the time. A voter turnout of 23.96 % across the state was recorded.

The 2024 Parliamentary elections in India saw 2.14 Crore voters of Punjab casting their vote on 24,451 Polling Stations across the state on June 1. To encourage voter turnouts there were several incentivising initiatives undertaken by the Election Commission, targeting over 70% turnout. All major political parties will be contesting the elections solo for the first time. BJP and SAD will be contesting the elections solo for the first time since 1996.
