A young Indian man who recently immigrated from Punjab, Ludhiana identified as Yuvraj Goyal was found shot dead in his residence at Surrey, Canada this Friday, i.e. on June 7. As per the sources he came to Canada in 2019 on student visa and had recently got his PR i.e. the status of Canada’s Permanent Residence. As per Royal Canadian Police (RCP) this was a targeted attack but haven’t figured out the reason for the homicide yet.

Yuvraj Goyal (28), son of Mr. Rajesh Goyal, owner of Firewood business and Mrs. Shakun Goyal, a homemaker had no criminal records as per RCP. The Canadian police got the call about shooting in the 900-block of 164 street in surrey, British Columbia. Upon arrival the police found Yuvraj was shot-dead.

Whereas, police found four suspects named, Manvir Basram (23), Sahib Basra (20), and Harkirat Jhutty (23) of Surrey and Keilon Francois (20) of Ontario and are been charged with first-degree murder on Saturday.

Surrey RCMP, Air 1, and Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT), did their best by arresting the suspects but still more strict actions should have been taken so as to avoid other cases like this in near future. As per the statement of Sergeant Timothy Pierotti, “Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), is dedicated to provide justice to Mr. Goyal’s Homicide incident.

As per preliminary investigation into the case it was found to be as a targeted attack but still the main reason is yet to be discovered.
