Punjab Youth who departed to America to secure Parents' Future meets untimely demise

Gurpal Singh the only son of his parents, left for America a month earlier on July 7 in order to provide a brighter future for his parents. After a month, his family received the tragic news of his death.

The youth of Punjab are migrating in huge numbers to developed foreign countries, risking their lives for a brighter future. Similarly, 16, 17 young people from various nations aspired to travel to America, but tragically, all of them died after the bus crashed into a deep gorge near the Mexico Highway.

Gurpal Singh, son of Balwinder Singh, of Bagdi village in the Kahnuwan block of the Gurdaspur district, was also among these youths. Gurpal Singh was the only son of his parents, who had left for America a month earlier on July 7 in order to provide a brighter future for his parents. After a month, his family received the tragic news of his death.

When the family learned of the loss, a mountain of grief descended on them, and a wave of mourning swept through the whole village. Balwinder Singh, the deceased's father, stated that Gurpal Singh left home a month ago to travel to America via a local agent and a Hajipur agent. He stated that he had put together a large sum for Gurpal Singh to travel to America, of which he had given Rs 40 lakh to the agency.

The family found out a few days ago that Gurpal Singh had been gravely injured in a car accident, but today, August 8 Chairman Thakur Singh, a resident of village Bagdi, informed him that Gurpal Singh's agent informed him that their son had passed away. The family have demanded that the lifeless corpse of their son Gurpal Singh be returned to the village as soon as possible so that his last rites can be done in his village.
