Punjabi singer Nachhatar Gill performs wife's last rites amidst son and daughter's wedding days apart

Gill's wife Dalvinder Kaur was cremated right a day before their son's wedding was scheduled which falls under three days of their daughter's marriage

The popular Punjabi singer Nachhatar Gill’s family’s biggest days of happiness and celebration recently turned into sorrow with the death of his wife Dalvinder Kaur after battling a prolonged illness on the 15th of November the same week his son and daughter’s wedding was scheduled.

 

Dalvinder Kaur was cremated amidst all of her family members who were gathered to celebrate the occasion of joy in the family earlier today in the Banga Road crematorium in Phagwara.

 

Gill’s wife died just a day later after their daughter tied the knot on the 14th of November and with Kaur’s death, it has now become uncertain whether their son’s wedding will take place as scheduled on the 17th.

Images from the last rites of Dalvinder Kaur have been doing the rounds on social media. Family and friends were seen beside Nachhatar Gill lending support to him as he performed the last rites of his wife and laid her mortal remains to rest.

 

Nachhatar Gill has been among one of the most prolific voices in the Punjabi music industry his father was a Kirtani and he used to sing along with his father at their village's temple's annual program. He rose to fame with his solo song Dil Ditta Nahin Si.

 

He has sung two religious Sahib Jinah Diyan Mane (2006), and Ardaas Karaan (2010). He made his debut in movies with Gal Sun Ho Gaya in the year 2012. He did three more films after that and was last seen in Jugaadi Dot Com in 2015.
