Punjabi Youth from Hoshiarpur who was to get married next month shot dead in US

Gurpreet Singh Goga, was a resident of village Attowal, Hoshiarpur and was set to get married in May when he was shot dead by a truck driver in a road rage incident

A Punjabi youth was shot dead in America over a minor dispute. The deceased youth has been identified as Gurpreet Singh Goga, resident of village Attowal, Hoshiarpur. As per reports, Gurpreet Singh was going to get married on 20th May. His death has left a wave of mourning spread throughout the village. The family has appealed for help from the Punjab and Central governments to bring back Goga's body.

 

Gurpreet's maternal uncle Satnam Singh informed that Gurpreet used to drive a truck along with his elder brother Harpreet. Angered due to a minor dispute on the road, another truck driver of US origin shot 7 bullets into Gurpreet's back and fled from the spot.

 

Gurpreet's widowed mother Sukhwinder Kaur informed through tears that the family had fixed the marriage of Gurpreet on May 20. Just 2 days ago, he had told on phone that he would return to the village next week, but little didthey know that they would get the news not of their son's arrival but of his murder.

 

Investigating officer in US, Bambi Haring said that a search for the absconding accused truck driver is underway. He informed that 200 meters behind, the elder brother was also driving a truck. The truck got stuck in the jam. Gurpreet had an argument with the truck driver. The American truck driver took out his pistol and unloaded 7 rounds into the deceased.
