In the latest development, internet services across Punjab have been suspended. According to the information received, all internet services in various districts of Punjab will remain suspended till tomorrow. The decision has been taken by the Punjab government after the arrest of 6 associates of Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh.
Reportedly, there are chances that a big operation can be initiated against Amritpal Singh due to which internet services have been suspended. This decision has been taken by the government so that no information regarding Amritpal Singh is shared with anyone. Punjab's Home Secretary Anurag Verma confirmed the internet suspension of Punjab.
For the unversed, police have detained 6 close aids of Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh while he was on his way to Shahkot. Earlier also, the government cancelled arms licenses of 9 associates of Amritpal Singh. All these steps are being taken against Waris Punjab De Chief after the Ajnala Police Station clash.
Punjab's Internet Suspension Reason
As per the official order shared by State's Home Secretary, Punjab's internet suspension decision has been taken in the backdrop to stop spreading of inflammatory material and false rumours, to provoke mobilization of mobs of agitators and demonstrators, mobilize their own manpower and resources for their anti-national activities.
