Punjab's Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee to jam railways in protest of farmer delegation's arrest

Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee of Punjab has announced a rail jam in protest against the arrest of farmer laborers who supported wrestlers' strike against sexual exploitation.

Amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding the arrest of a delegation of farmer laborers who went to support the strike of wrestlers against sexual exploitation at Jantar Mantar Delhi, the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee of Punjab has announced a rail jam across Punjab tomorrow in protest.

In a statement to the press, the state office secretary of Amritsar Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, Sarwan Singh Pandher, expressed deep concern over the arrest of the group that was led by Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Punjab State President Sukhwinder Singh Sabhra, General Secretary Rana Ranbir Singh, State leaders Kanwardaleep Saidolehal, Satnam Singh Harike, Haryana farmer leaders Abhimanno Kohar, Sanjay Khareta.

Pandher condemned the actions of the Delhi Police and asserted that supporting the protest is a democratic right. If the leaders are not released, trains will be blocked across Punjab tomorrow, and the responsibility will lie with the central government. The farmer leaders also criticized the Modi government at the center for standing in favor of the accused BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh instead of providing justice to the wrestlers who brought laurels to the country.

The issue of sexual exploitation of women wrestlers by BJP MP and wrestling federation chief Brijbhushan Sharan Singh has been going on in Delhi for the last 12 days, and the farmer laborers had gone to support the dharna. The arrests of the delegation have caused widespread anger and condemnation.

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher also called on the people of the country to support the farmers and the wrestlers in their protest against sexual exploitation.
