The leaders of Punjab are on the target of gangsters and terrorists. Gaurav Yadav, the DGP for Punjab, has received a list of 10 leaders from the Central Intelligence Agencies. The matter related to the security of VIPs in Punjab has become very sensitive. Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was murdered in Mansa the very next day after security was reduced.

According to sources, the list sent to the DGP of Punjab has four such Congress leaders. These include the names of former deputy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, former ministers Gurkeerat Kotli, Vijayinder Singla and former MLA Parminder Pinky. Gurkeerat Kotli is also the grandson of former CM Beant Singh. The security of these leaders is a concern that has been raised by the central intelligence agencies.

The Aam Aadmi Party started reducing the security of VIPs as soon as their government was formed in Punjab. It was described as an action on VIP culture. To claim credit, the security information was also made public. Similar to this, Sidhu Moosewala's protection was also reduced on May 28. Moosewala was killed the very next day. However, Moosewala did not take the two gunmen posted with him at the time of the murder.
