The longest-serving monarch of Britain, Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday at her Scottish estate. It was a great time when your Majesty visited India in the year 1997. Taking a trip down memory lane, she even came to visit Jallianwala Bagh and Golden Temple situated in Amritsar.

Accompanied by her husband, Queen Elizabeth II visited Amritsar in the year 1997. There she was received by Governor BKN Chibber and that time Chief Minister, Prakash Singh Badal.

Reportedly, the route decide for the Queen was that the Royal Family couple will first visit Golden Temple and then they will head onto Jallianwala Bagh. At the last moment, there was a change in their plan and the couple decide to visit the Jallianwala Bagh first. Notably in the video, the Royal Couple removed their shoes and observed a two-minute silence to mark the respect of all the people who died during the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The Duke, Prince Philip was startled to know the number of deaths displayed.

After spending a span of 15 minutes, the couple then visited the sacred Golden Temple. While visiting Harmandir Sahib, the queen was asked to wear a new pair of socks and also, she was the first person to visit the place wearing gloves.

When the video of her visit started doing rounds many questions were raised about the guidelines not being followed by the Royal Couple while their visit to Harmandir Sahib. The fact is that there are certain codes when you visit Golden Temple, every person is asked to remove his/her socks while visiting there. People raised the question that if the Queen could have removed her shoes and stockings at the Jallianwala Bagh then why was she not asked to do the same at the time of her visit to the Golden Temple?

It came out that the gloves play a very important role in their royal family and asking her to remove them will be very awkward. The fact remains unknown whether the Queen was not explained about the rituals or codes to be followed while visiting there or whether she did not agree to do the same.
