Queen’s 95th birthday won’t be a public celebration this year

The world’s oldest monarch Her Majesty the Queen turned 95 on Wednesday. Queen’s birthday won’t have public celebrations as the occasion had come just days after the royal family bid a final farewell to Prince Philip.

Queen and Prince Philip got married in 1947 that is the couple have been married for seven decades. Prince died on April 9 at the age of 99 at Windsor Castle. The whole Royal family including Prince Harry paid their final respects to his highness on Saturday at Windsor Castle. During the funeral ceremony, the Queen was seen sitting alone in the church due to the Covid-19 precautions.

Initially, Prince Harry had planned to fly back to the US but later on, it was reported that the prince would be staying with her grandmother until her birthday to support her in this hard time. This year the royals are marking two weeks of mourning that is there will be fewer public shows also there will be no gun salutes at the Tower of London and at the capital’s Hyde Park which was usually done on queen’s birthday.

However, there will be another birthday celebration for the Queen. The Queen has an official birthday which is celebrated in June with even wider celebrations than the actual birthday. Prince Philip’s death has left a great void in Elizabeth’s close associate's list and the most trusted confidante. Throughout her 69-year record-breaking reign Prince Philip remained the shadow of the queen. Earlier the royal was taken aback by the allegations of racism and neglect put forth by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
