'Radhe' BREAKS records: most-watched film on Day 1; Collects Rs 4.3 crore

On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan extended his greetings to fans and thanked them for making his new crime-thriller drama 'Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai' the most-watched film on its first day of release.


Salman took to Twitter to share a poster for the film and reveal that the film had broken box office records on its first day of release, with over 4.2 million viewers watching it on the OTT platform.

In the caption, he wrote, "Wishing ev1 a v Happy Eid. Thank u all for the wonderful return gift by making Radhe the most-watched film on day 1. The film industry would not survive without your love n support. Thank u.”



Radhe was released in over 40 countries. Radhe released on May 13 on ZEE5 with ZEE's pay-per-view service ZEEPlex on the Zee5 OTT platform and all leading DTH operators. Salman Khan's Radhe box office collection on day 1 was Rs. 4.39 crore, according to BoxOfficeIndia.

Radhe starred Salman Khan, Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, and Jackie Shroff, and is directed by Prabhu Deva.

Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst, took to Twitter on Friday (May 14) to discuss the film's overseas box office success on Day 1.

The first day box office collections for 'Radhe' in Australia were AUD 62,988 (Rs 35.71 lakhs), while in New Zealand it was NZD 11,199 (Rs 35.71 lakhs) (5.90 lakhs).



Salman posted an Instagram video on Wednesday encouraging fans to watch his latest film on the official pay-per-view website, where it will be released on May 13, rather than piracy.

" A lot of efforts are put in while making a movie, and it is very disheartening when some people do piracy and watch the film,” the actor said in a video.
"I ask you to give a commitment to enjoy films on the right platform. So, this Eid will be the audience's commitment - 'No Piracy in entertainment.”He added.

According to Box Office India, the overseas response to 'Radhe' is 40% lower than Salman's previous Eid release, 'Bharat,' which was released in 2019. The film has a 50% occupancy rate in main markets due to the pandemic.
