ED Raid at 18 locations across Punjab-Haryana, Himachal in HUDA refund scam case worth Rs 70 crores

Central investigation agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids in many districts of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. ED team has reached about 18 places in Punjab and Haryana. This includes other areas including Panchkula and Mohali, while ED investigation is going on in Solan district of Himachal.

 

Sources said that the investigation is going on in the case registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), which is related to the fake refund scam of Rs 70 crore in HUDA. HUDA is now known as 'Haryana Urban Development Authority'. The role of around six HUDA officials is under the agency's scanner.

 

According to information revealed as per sources, the money was refunded in an illegitimate manner. The fraud was committed between 2015 and 2019. Many real estate companies and officials of Haryana are on the ED’s radar regarding this case.

 

The strings of this matter are also connected to Himachal. According to sources, search is also going on in Solan and Baddi locations of Himachal. ED action is going on at the locations of many government officials and private people including some retired officials.
