Rail Roko: Key points about farmers' protest to halt trains

The special focus will be on Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

The farmers' four hour rail roko protest to mark their agitation against the contentious farm laws enacted by the union government is today. 20 additional companies of Railway Protection Special Force have been deployed in the wake of Rail Roko by the farmers today.

The special focus will be on Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Arun Kumar, the Director General of Railway Protection Force had appealed for peace. The umbrella body of the farmers protesting across the borders in Delhi, Samyukta Kisan Morcha had said that the rail roko protest would be held across India from 12 PM to 4 PM.

The authorities have deciphered that there are 80 trains that will run through sensitive areas. Most of these trains would have crossed from these areas by 12 PM.

Meanwhile the Railway unions had earlier supported the farmers' protest but they have pulled their support out from the rail roko agitation.
