Railways to announce resumption of more trains, to start ticket bookings at 1.7 lakh common service centers from tomorrow

Giving information on the resumption of more trains, Goyal said, "We are going to announce the resumption of more trains in the upcoming days. We have also permitted the operation of shops at railway stations. However, only takeaways will be allowed."

In a pursuit to achieve normalcy, major relaxations have started to come now. Indian Railways on Wednesday released the list of 200 Special trains that will run from June 1 and said that these will be fully reserved trains having both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned classes. 

Giving more details on train service, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday said that booking of train tickets will resume at around 1.7 lakh common service centres from tomorrow across the country. He also said that bookings will also resume at counters of different stations in the next 2-3 days for which they are developing a protocol in this regard.

Giving the numbers on the bookings done today, the Railway Minister informed, "In the last two and half hours, over 4 lakh tickets have been booked for second class passenger trains which start from June 1. So many people want to go home. Also, there are so many people who want to return to work in cities which is a very good sign."
