A heavily loaded cement truck hit the bus from behind onTonk-Kota highway at 2:30 am on Wednesday. As per a report published in TOI,eight people have died and four people have sustained injuries after thecollision.
The victims were travelling from Khatu Shyam ji to Rajgarhin Madhya Pradesh.
OM Prakash, SP Tonk said that prima-facie, it appearsthat the traveller in which they were travelling was trying to overtake and thedriver applied brakes after he noticed the vehicle coming from the other side.Hence, the truck hit the vechicle from behind.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in a tweet said, "Sad toknow that eight people have lost lives in a road accident in Tonk, whilereturning from Khatushyam ji to their town in MP. My heartfelt condolences tothe bereaved family members. May they remain strong in this difficult time& prayers for speedy recovery of those injured."
According to the SP, Prakash, the victims who died on thespot include children aged seven and eight. He said the incident was massive asthe trolley went over the top of the traveller leaving the bodies strewn in thevehicle.
