On the call of Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association, a strike has started at petrol pumps in the state from 6 am on Sunday (10 March). This strike is being conducted to demand reduction in VAT (Value Added Tax) rates on petrol and diesel. The strike will continue till March 12 (6 am). Petrol Pump operators of many districts joined the strike.

 

The strike commenced at 6 am on Sunday, March 10, and will continue for 48 hours until 6 am on March 12. After this announcement was made yesterday, huge queues were seen at the pumps for petrol and diesel in the state. Due to which the common people had to face problems. There will be a "No Sale, No Purchase" strike by petrol pump operators of the state tomorrow demanding reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel in Rajasthan. Under this, petrol pump operators in Sikar district too are symbolically keeping their petrol pumps closed in protest of the government.

 

The executive members of Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association had organized a virtual meeting. In this meeting, issues including not reducing VAT on petrol and diesel, not increasing dealer commission by oil companies for the last 7 years and forced supply of lube oil and premium products were discussed in detail. Presidents, secretaries and RPDA executives of all the districts were present in the meeting.
