Rakhi Sawant on Thursday was called by Mumbai Police for questioning regarding the complaint filed by Sherly Chopra against her. Sherlyn Chopra filed a complaint alleging Rakhi Sawant for spreading her obscene videos online. The model recently shared a tweet of Rakhi being arrested after which Mumbai Police gave clarity on the same.
While Rakhi Sawant was summoned for questioning on Thursday, model Sherly Chopra circulated a Tweet through her handle stating that Rakhi has been arrested. She wrote, “Amboli police has arrested Rakhi Sawant. He has been arrested under FIR 883/2022. Yesterday, Rakhi Sawant's ABA 1870/2022 was dismissed by the Mumbai Sessions Court.”
Contrary to her Tweet, Mumbai Police stated that Rakhi Sawant has not been arrested whereas she was only called for questioning regarding the case. It further added that the tweet made by Sherly Chopra is wrong. Mumbai Police has not come out with any official statement of Rakhi Sawant’s arrest till now.
For the unversed, the matter started from Bigg Boss 16, after Sherly Chopra criticized the makers of the show allowing a person to enter the house who has various sexual harassment cases against him. During this, Rakhi called Sherlyn’s allegations completely wrong and came out in support of Sajid Khan. Post this, Sherlyn had filed a complaint against Rakhi under sections 354A (sexual harassment of the nature of unwelcome physical contact and advances or a demand or request for sexual favors showing pornography), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 504 (insult intended to provoke breach of peace) and provisions of the Information Technology Act. Rakhi Sawant has also filed a defamation case against Sherly Chopra.
