Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh who was lodged in Haryana’s Sunaria Jail is out on parole for the time being. The Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee has been from past many days protesting against this decision and has also approached the Punjab Haryana High Court in this regard. Despite the opposition of SGPC, Gurmeet Singh Ram Rahim has been granted permission to organize a Satsang on 29th January 2023 at Salabatpura in Bathinda.
Salabatpura is the second largest and most important Dera in Haryana after Sirsa Dera. The followers of Ram Rahim have started preparations for the Satsang that will take place on Sunday. Reportedly, Ram Rahim will address the lovers of Punjab online from Barnawa.
On 25th January 2023 Gurmeet Singh Ram Rahim celebrated his birthday during which some of his followers were not allowed to enter the celebration by the management team because of a lack of space. On being questioned about the same by Ram Rahim, management stated that the crowd was more while the space was less because of which some were restricted to attend the celebration.
Ram Rahim on 21st January 2023 received 40- day parole from the court for the first time in the last five years. Gurmeet Singh Ram Rahim s serving a 20-year jail term for raping two women disciples at his ashram in Sirsa.
