Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have teamed up on several movies. In a recent interview, Ranbir discussed how Deepika had advanced as an actor and how the two had begun their careers around the same time. He claimed Deepika's performance was "championed by Deepika's performance" in one of their most well-known scenes from the 2015 movie Tamasha.
The actor added that he and the other actor "had always had such a nice time cooperating."
The next movie featuring Ranbir will be Shamshera, starring Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. The actor has been extremely active in promoting his movie, which comes out on July 22.
In a recent interview, Ranbir discussed his career in movies. He made his acting debut in the 2007 movie Saawariya with Sonam Kapoor. He also talked about the experience of filming some of his most well-known scenes.
Ranbir discussed a sequence from the Tamasha song Agar Tum Sath Ho in an interview with Brut India. Ranbir stated that Deepika Padukone owned the scene. Ranbir said, “(It) was championed by Deepika’s performance. There are certain scenes that tilt towards an actor’s character, and the scene really had my character arch because he was churning, he was going through something. But I think the way Deepika performed it, what Deepika brought to the table, she made it come alive because you really felt pain. And because of that, it was such a reactive scene. What I was doing, she was reacting, what she was doing, I was reacting.”
Ranbir went on to say that he and Deepika "always had such a nice time working" together. When they collaborated on Tamasha, he claimed she had "developed so much as an actor" and that he was "surprised" by her growth.
“I’ve always had such a good time working with Deepika because we started off together. She’s grown so much as an actor, we did our second film together, called Bachna Ae Haseeno. And I worked with her again on Yeh Jawani hai Deewani. I don’t think I have ever been so surprised by an actor’s growth. Because I know Deepika so closely, I was so impressed. By the time we reached Tamasha, she was a veteran, you know, and she was surprising me with each shot, and everything she was doing,” Ranbir stated.
Deepika and Ranbir started dating in 2008 after meeting on the Bachna Ae Haseeno set. In an interview in 2010, Deepika charged Ranbir with adultery. Ranveer Singh, an actor, and Deepika were married in November 2018, while Ranbir and Alia got hitched in April 2022.
