Actor Ranveer Singh has asked for a two-week time from the Mumbai Police in the nude photo shoot controversy.

This comes a day before the scheduled date of inquiry by the Police on August 22nd after an FIR was registered against him by an NGO. However, the police haven’t yet in the matter.

The nude photo shoot controversy dates back to July 22nd which was done for Paper magazine. After the pictures went viral an NGO registered an FIR against Ranveer Singh at Chembur police station.

The NGO said Ranveer has hurt the sentiments of women through his nude pictures, therefore his pictures must be removed from social media platforms, and demanded the actor’s arrest. The case has been registered against Ranveer through IPC sections 509, 292, 293, and section 67A of the IT act.

The multiple provisions through which a case has been registered against Ranveer Singh amount to the maximum punishment of up to 5 years if pronounced guilty by the court.

Ranveer Singh after the photo shoot marred amid a national controversy said, “It is easy for me to get physically naked. I have been made naked in some of my on-screen acts. You can see my soul in it, how much is it naked?"

He went on to say, "I can undress in front of thousands of people. It barely bothers me, but people present there will get a bit uncomfortable.”
