Ranveer Singh’s 83 lands in legal trouble! Cheating complaint filed against producers

The film chronicles the journey of the Indian men's cricket team lifting their first World Cup trophy in 1983.

Ranveer Singh starrer 83 is the most anticipated film of the year. Before the release of the film, it has landed into legal trouble. A United Arab Emirates (UAE) financier has approached the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Mumbai and filed a cheating case against the makers of the film '83'.


 
A complaint has been filed against the makers for cheating. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who is one of the producers of the film, has also been dragged into this controversial case. The names of the film’s director Kabir Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala, among others, are also included in the complaint.

 

The UAE financier stated that his company was promised good returns by Vibri Media after they invested approximately Rs 16 crores. But, their funds were directed into multiple agreements with his investment being used for the production of the movie without getting any written consent from the complainant.

 

The case has been made under sections 405, 406, 415, 418, 420 and 120B of the IPC. 

 

 
 
‘83’ is all set to release on 24th December in theatres. The film is jointly produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, Phantom Films, Reliance Entertainment. The film will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam
