While the NCB is in a pursuit to bust the drug cartel spread in Bollywood, there are few voices that have been raising to legalize certain drugs. Sutapa Sikdar, the wife of late actor Irrfan Khan, has made an appeal for the legalization of CBD oil in India.

singer Sona Mohapatra spoke about the benefits of CBD oil, which she came to know during her sister's cancer treatment last year.

Sona shared a note on her verified Facebook page: "The TV stories feel like a farce esp CBD oil and ganja and Whatapp chats being talked about with such fervour. I discovered what the former was when my sister went through multiple surgeries for cancer last year. Was told of how magical the healing and pain alleviating this could be for her recovery. Unfortunately we couldn't find any easily in Mumbai. Cannabis has been the base of all Ayurveda till the British banned it I've learnt, thus taking away most of its efficacy."

Now Bollywood actor Ranvir Shorey during an interview with Hindustan Times went on ask to legalize not just CBD oil but also marijuana in India. Talking about drugs in Bollywood, Ranvir said, "I think the consumption of drugs in Bollywood is the same proportion which is generally in society. I have been to a lot of non-Bollywood parties where I have seen drugs. So I don't think its safe to say that Bollywood is exceptional. There are people who use drugs in all walks of life and Bollywood is no different."

On being asked about raising voices to legalize CBD Oil, Ranvir said, "Absolutely! not just CBD oil, I am of the belief that even marijuana should be legal. I think its based o very archaic law that marijuana is still illegal in India. In lots of countries, marijuana is legal right now and I believe that this is another colonial hangover that we have. Like laws that are hundreds of years old which have not been changed. Marijuana laws are like that, they are out to be changed now."
