It is said that the Andhra Pradesh man arrested in Rashmika Mandanna's deepfake case is the main accused. In December 2023, it was reported that the Delhi Police tracked down four suspects who were involved in uploading Bollywood actress Rashmika Mandanna's deepfake video online. However, the hunt for the creators of the video and the main conspirator behind it was still on. What did Rashmika say in her deepfake video?
After the video went viral on social media, Animal Actress had issued a detailed statement in 2023. Rashmika had said, " "I feel really hurt to share this and have to talk the deepfake video of me being spread online. Something like this is honestly, extremely scary not only for me, but also for each one of us who today is vulnerable to so much harm because of how technology is being misused.
"Today, as a woman and as an actor, I am thankful for my family, friends and well wishers who are my protection and support system. But if this happened to me when I was in school or college, I genuinely can't imagine how could I ever tackle this. We need to address this as a community and with urgency before more of us are affected by such identity theft."
It is pertinent to mention here that multiple Bollywood actors had expressed solidarity with the actress including Amitabh Bachchan.
