Ravichandran Ashwin goes past Kapil Dev's record, becomes 2nd highest wicket-taker for India in Test

Ravichandran Ashwin broke Kapil Dev's world record. He has become the second-highest wicket-taker for India in Test matches.

The first match of the Test series is being played between India and Sri Lanka in Mohali. In this, Ravichandran Ashwin broke Kapil Dev's world record. He has become the second-highest wicket-taker for India in Test matches. 

Whereas in world cricket, he has been established at 9th place in terms of taking most Test wickets. Kapil Dev is now in 10th place in this matter. Team India declared the innings by scoring 574 runs on the first day of the match. 

After this, Sri Lanka was all out in the first innings and then given the follow-on. Ashwin took 2 wickets in the first innings. After this, the Sri Lankan team has lost 7 wickets for 139 runs in the second innings as well. Ashwin took 3 wickets in this innings till writing the news.  

Ashwin left Kapil Dev behind on the strength of his strong performance in the Mohali Test. He has reached second place in terms of taking the most wickets for India in Test matches. He has taken 435 wickets in 85 matches played so far.  


Anil Kumble holds the record for taking the most Test wickets for Team India. Kumble has taken 619 wickets. While Kapil Dev has taken 434 wickets in his name.
