TheFinancial Inclusion and Development Department, Reserve Bank of India (RBI),Chandigarh organized a virtual meeting for MSME Entrepreneurs on Friday here.
Themeeting was chaired by the Regional Director (Punjab, Haryana & UTChandigarh), Reserve Bank of India, JK Pandey.
Asmany as 40 participants consist of representatives of various IndustryAssociations / Trade Bodies, entrepreneurs from different industries inJalandhar such as Sports Goods, Leather goods, Hardware Manufacturing, ForgingTools, Machine Tools, Auto Parts, and Valve items and officials of variousbanks active in the region attended the meeting.
Inhis address, Regional Director, RBI, Chandigarh JK Pandey emphasized that thepurpose of the Town Hall Meeting was to create awareness about the bank schemesfor lending to MSME customers and to resolve the issues between bankers andentrepreneurs by bringing them together in a common platform. He urged thebanking fraternity to have an empathetic approach in dealing with the MSMEborrowers and provide timely and adequate finance to these units.
Headvised the bankers to disseminate information regarding various MSME loanproducts to the entrepreneurs. He also appreciated various policy measures andefforts put in by Central Government, RBI, State Governments, FinancialInstitutions, and Banks in mitigating the financial stress caused by the COVID– 19 pandemic to MSME Sector in the country.
GeneralManager, SIDBI Rahul Priyadarshi, also appraised various schemes operated bySIDBI for the benefit of the MSME Sector.
DGMRBI Chandigarh Pronobesh Barua, Chairman, Punjab Gramin Bank, KapurthalaSanjeev Kumar Dubey, Assistant Directors MSME Ludhiana Kundan Lal, and WazirSingh, Deputy Zonal Manager, UCO Bank, Jalandhar Jaswinder Kumari, AGM, SBI,Jalandhar Harpreet Singh, Assistant General Manager, Punjab National Bank,Jalandhar Vijay Sehgal, and others attended the meeting.
