'Real life Money Heist': Seattle's Apple Store robbed as thieves enter through a tunnel in bathroom, 436 iPhones stolen

When a fictional movie script turn into a reality, it certainly blows the mind of the people. A similar kind of bizarre yet mind-blowing incident came to light when it was discovered that two burglars in the US state of Washington managed to break into an Apple store and steal as many as 436 units of iPhones, costing approximately $500,000. Yes! you heard it right. The United States of America indeed witnessed real-life Money Heist on their soil. To be precise, the incident took at the Apple Store in the Alderwood Mall, Seattle when the facility was closed. The thieves did their homework and managed to sneak in by cutting a hole in the bathroom wall of a coffee shop next door to enter the backroom of the Apple store. The clever manoeuvre allowed the burglars to bypass Apple's security system.

The Apple security team as well as the shop employees had no information about the stolen merchandise until they arrived for work the next day. The Washington Apple Store robbery indeed gained a lot of traction from all around the world. Lynwood Police confirmed that apart from the iPhones, Apple merchandise worth thousands of dollars was also stolen by the crafty thieves. “Approximately 436 iPhones in total were taken out of the back. As of right now, no [fingerprints] have been found and the subjects entered wearing masks,” Lynwood Police Department Communications Manager Maren McKay was quoted by US media adding, "No arrests have been made at this point, but detectives are currently investigating any information and leads."

It is pertinent to mention here that the CEO of the coffee shop- Mike Atkinson also posted about the incident on Twitter with a picture of the tunnel that the burglars created in the Apple Store's bathroom " Two men broke into one of our retail locations. Why? To cut a hole in our bathroom wall to access the Apple Store next door and steal $500k worth of Iphones," he tweeted.

USA hit with another unusual heist

Last week, a group of thieves stole $200,000 worth of dimes in Northeast Philadelphia. As per reports, investigators told that they are looking for as many as six suspects in this theft. The discovery was made when police responded to a call around 6 a.m. Thursday. The tractor-trailer, which was parked in a Walmart parking lot on the 4300 block of Byberry Road, contained about $750,000 worth of dimes (Coins). Police on the scene say an estimated two million dimes, worth $200,000, were stolen. Not only this, Police believe the suspects got away in a white Chrysler 300 with tinted windows and a dark-colored pickup truck. The suspects were seen wearing all black and gray sweatshirts.
