With the storyline resembling so much to a real-life case, the question arises whether Bhakshak is a true story or Bhakshak is a real story or not.

Is Bhakshak a true story?

The answer is yes. Bhakshak is inspired by real-life events revolving around an NGO where cases of sexual abuse, rape, and torture were reported. While the makers may have used fictional names, Bhakshak is inspired by true events. Bhumi Pednekar plays Vaishali Singh, an investigative journalist, who embarks on a mission to uncover the truth behind cases of abuse reported in shelter homes. Notably, the makers have not used the real names of places and cases, however, there is one case that has similarities with the Bhakshak storyline. Below is everything about Bhakshak True Story or Bhakshak Real Life Case-

Bhaksak True Story

Bhakshak True Story may be revolving around the 'real-life' 2018 Muzaffarpur shelter home abuse case. Muzaffarpur Shelter Home case refers to a shelter home that was run under a non-governmental organization called 'Sewa Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti' at Muzaffarpur, Bihar, where cases of sexual abuse, rape and torture were reported. As per reports, medical examination had revealed sexual abuse of 34 out of 42 of the girls living at the shelter.

Brajesh Thakur, the founder of Seva Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti NGO which ran the shelter home in Bihar's Muzaffarpur, is currently serving a life sentence after being convicted by a Delhi court in 2020. Notably, the Bihar Government had handed over the case to the CBI as well.

The sexual abuse of inmates of the Muzzafarpur shelter home came to light on May 26, 2018, after the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) submitted a report to the Bihar government highlighting it.
