Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, an American crime-drama series going to get streamed on 5th September 2024 only on Peacock. The series includes a total of 8 episodes. This series is based on a true story. The real incident took place 54 years ago in Atlanta. The incident exactly took place on 26th October 1970, the day when Mohammad Ali made his comeback in the boxing ring against Jerry Quarry.
On this day, a street hustler named Gordan Williams also known as the ‘Chicken Man’ had hosted a private afterparty. This lavish after-party included some of the richest hustlers, dealers, pimps and Black mafia bosses in the country.
In the afterparty, an incident took place that shook the city, when a host of armed robbers entered in the party. The host of armed robbers made the guests to stand in a line and moved them into the basement. They were asked to strip down themselves to their last fabrics. The robbery was huge and the robbers went home with a huge amount. They robbed around 1 million dollars in cash and valuables. City’s first black detective J.D. Hudson was assigned the task to find and catch the robbers. The incident was infamous for the audacity of the robbers to rob dealers, pimps, and Black mafia bosses.
As per reports, Chicken Man had the dream of transforming Atlanta into a Black Vegas, and he knew that his people and the city had the potential to achieve that status one day. Chicken Man’s son, Gordon Williams Junior was quoted saying in the True Crime podcast that his father had put everything at stake to organise the party. He knew that if things went right, then he would become the right-hand man of Frank Mo.

Craig Brewer, the director of the episodes said, “I was always fascinated by the aesthetic of those films, and the attitude where nothing is subtle and everything comes at you with propulsive music and fashion.”
One of the actors, David Banner shared about his experience and said, “We look just like our parents. So, once they put the right makeup on, the right hair on. And we put those clothes on. It felt like we literally were our parents. I’ve never been touched that way. It almost shook me out of my character. It was so dope. I was like, we are so beautiful.”
