While speaking about the inspiration of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Rian said that he is greatly inspired by the writer and her books gave him the motivation to create a movie out of it. He further added that this movie is like a tribute to his favorite novelist Agatha Christie and her detective fiction. Talking about the character of detective Benoit Blanc, Rian revealed that it is not a real person but a fictional character.

As per the synopsis of the movie, Glass Onion trailer reveals that this time murder is already on the cards when detective Benoit Blanc reaches Greece. The detective has arrived there on an invitation of a billionaire whose murder is going to take place. The movie takes a 360-degree turn when instead of fake an actual murder takes place. The movie shows how detective Blanc touches upon layers of unexpected murder.
