Bollywood actor & philanthropist Sonu Sood on Saturday lashed out at WhatsApp after his account was blocked by Meta. Sonu Sood took to his Instagram story and slammed WhatsApp saying that it was time for them to wake up as he had not been able to access his account for the past 36 hours. Finally, after 61 hours of delay, Sonu Sood's WhatsApp account was restored. After Sonu Sood's WhatsApp account was recovered, the actor revealed that he received, '9483 unread messages in 61 hours'. As per reports, WhatsApp may block your account for various reasons, including violating their terms of service, sending spam or suspicious messages, or using unauthorised third-party apps. For instance, android users choose to use WhatsApp Plus or GB WhatsApp, which are mods for the original messaging apps. While they certainly add interesting features such as extensive customisation, downloading images at the original quality, and sending large files, WhatsApp tries to dissuade users from using these mods. This means that if they detect that you are using one of these modified apps, they will ban you and you will end up with your WhatsApp number blocked.
Although WhatsApp bans are temporary, appealing to restore it can be challenging. Users can appeal the ban through WhatsApp’s support, but success is not guaranteed. Notably, the time for restoration of WhatsApp account vary person to person depending on the reason. It’s best to act promptly and follow WhatsApp’s guidelines to expedite the process.
