Netflix has announced the biggest banger of this year just in time for the holiday season by releasing its most anticipated film of 2023, Rebel Moon. The mega project is split into two parts, with the first installment titled 'Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire' set to air on December 22, while the second part, 'The Scargiver', is scheduled for release in April 2024.
Created by Zack Snyder, Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire features actors like Sofia Boutella is Kora, Djimon Hounsou is General Titus, Charlie Hunnam is Kai, Fra Fee is Regent Balisarius, Ed Skrein is Admiral Atticus Noble, Jena Malone is Harmada, and more in the leading roles.
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire is fictional story from the mind of film-maker Snyder. The official synopsis of the movie says-
"After crash landing on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a stranger with a mysterious past, begins a new life among a peaceful settlement of farmers. But she soon becomes their only hope for survival when the tyrannical Regent Balisarius (Fra Fee) and his cruel emissary, Admiral Noble (Ed Skrein), discover the farmers have unwittingly sold their crops to the Bloodaxes (Cleopatra Coleman and Ray Fisher) — leaders of a fierce group of insurgents hunted by the Motherworld.
Tasked with finding fighters who would risk their lives to defend the people of Veldt, Kora and Gunnar (Michiel Huisman), a tenderhearted farmer naive in the realities of war, journey to different worlds in search of the Bloodaxes, and assemble a small band of warriors who share a common need for redemption along the way: Kai (Charlie Hunnam), a pilot and gun for hire; General Titus (Djimon Hounsou), a legendary commander; Nemesis (Doona Bae), a master swordswoman; Tarak (Staz Nair), a captive with a regal past; and Milius (E. With the highest budget of a whopping $166 million, Netflix is sure to take the OTT platforms by storm with this release. Rebel Moon, directed by Zack Snyder, who is known for his work on "300" and "Justice League," has been working on this project for more than three decades now, during which he has delivered a lot of hit movies.
The director has made the movie as real as it can be with real-time locations rather than only relying on CGI and visual effects, which is a very common practice in science fiction and action films. The use of real crops for harvest scenes in the movie is another master stroke by Snyder in the film, which has elevated the standards of sci-fi movies. A major portion of the budget has been used to build the sets in Santa Clarita, near Los Angeles. With a prodigious director and a stealing star cast, the movie is predicted to break numerous records at the box office.
