Who is Revanth Reddy, Telangana CM?
Anumula Revanth Reddy was born on 8 November 1969 in Mahabubnagar, Andhra Pradesh. Basically, he comes from a farming family. Revanth's family was not able to send him money every month for expenses. To meet his expenses, Revanth used to make and sell paintings during his college days.
After this, Revanth along with his brother tried his hand in real estate and earned a lot of wealth. Revanth started showing interest in politics right from his college days. He graduated in Fine Arts from AV College, Hyderabad. During this time he joined ABVP after which he joined Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party, or TDP.
He actively participated in the Telangana movement. He was promised a ticket in the Zilla Parishad elections. When his ticket was given to someone else, he left TDP and for the first time contested the Zilla Parishad elections in 2006 independently and won. Later he was again included in the TDP party.
Revanth Reddy will be the second CM of Telangana. Before him, Chandrashekhar Rao was the Chief Minister of Telangana since 2014. Revanth had also undertaken a padyatra for this election and campaigned across Telangana.
He rose rapidly in TDP, and quickly became leader of the House. Reddy contested the assembly elections for the first time in 2009 from Kodangal seat of Andhra Pradesh on TDP ticket and won. By then he had become a well-known face of TDP. In 2014, Revanth was appointed leader of the House in the Telangana Assembly.
In 2015, Revanth Reddy was in judicial custody in a bribery-for-injury case. He was given 12 hours bail for his daughter's marriage, but during this time officers were present with him the whole time.
When Chandrababu did not get along with Naidu, he left TDP and joined Congress.
In 2019 he became MP from Malkajgiri on Congress ticket. In 2021, Revanth was made the President of Telangana Congress. There was strong opposition to this. Many leaders even said that they will not work under Revanth. Some had even sent resignations to Sonia Gandhi. Many senior leaders had also launched a campaign named Save Congress, but the Congress high command remained adamant on its decision.

Revanth Reddy is married to Geeta Reddy. Revanth and Geeta's love story is like a movie come true. This love story started when Revanth and Geeta were teenagers and both were in 12th class. Revanth saw Geeta for the first time at a wedding.
He fell in love with Geeta as soon as he saw her. Revanth proposed her which was accepted by Geeta. Everything continued secretly for some days, but one day Geeta's father came to know about this. After meeting Geeta's father, Revanth expressed his wish to marry her. Geeta's family was very wealthy and Revanth was poor at that time. Geeta's father had declined the marriage considering the gap between rich and poor, even though Revanth belonged to the same caste.
After this, he sent his daughter to Delhi to the house of his brother, Jaipal Reddy, the same senior Congress leader Jaipal Reddy who has been a cabinet minister in the UPA government. Contact between the two was lost. Then one day Revanth met Jaipal Reddy and convinced him to marry his niece. After a few years, Revanth also convinced Geeta's father and they finally got married in 1992.
