In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old Columbian woman died hours after a nose job left her lungs full of blood. As per reports, the Columbian woman named Karen Julieth Cárdenas Uribe, was just 21 years old when she had a rhinoplasty operation which left her "lungs full off blood". Karen Julieth Cárdenas Uribe was a psychology student from Colombia and on January 29 she fell unconscious after she arrived home post the rhinoplasty operation. Columbian media quoted her brother who informed that Karen was a healthy woman and she never had any serious health problems.

"She was a healthy woman, she never had any serious health problems and was in good physical shape," said Karen's brother. Notably, the family tried to revive Karen and took her to the hospital as soon as possible. However, in the hospital she suffered several cardiac arrests - which is what happens when the heart stops pumping. At the hospital Karen continued to pass out. Doctors managed to revive the 21-year-old but decided to incubate her to help her breathe. Karen's brother further informed that scans revealed the student had "considerable amount of blood in her lungs, trachea and oesophagus and she couldn’t breathe."

Karen suffered six cardiac arrests before dying. “They did what they could, but after six cardiac arrests she passed away," Karen's brother said. Now, the family have said they will file a complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office to establish if any parties are culpable of medical negligence.
