Shravan Kumar Rathod of the Nadeem-Shravan duo, one of the most well-known music composers of the 1990s, died on Thursday night at the age of 66 from COVID 19. The composer's death devastated the entire Bollywood and musical community. Sanjeev Rathod, his son, confirmed his father's death.He said, "He passed away around 10:15 PM tonight. Please pray for his soul."
Ajay Devgn took to Twitter to reminisce about how Shravan and Nadeem's music from Phool aur Kantey will live on forever.He wrote, "Shravan (and Nadeem) walked 30 years alongside me in my career with the evergreen album for Phool Aur Kaante. Very sad, very unfortunate to hear of his demise last night. Condolences to his family." AR Rahman took to social media and wrote, "Our Music community and your fans will miss you immensely #ShravanRathod ji Rest in peace Respect and Prayers." Manoj Bajpayee and Nimrat Kaur, among others, tweeted about the composer's death.
The news of Shravan's death shocked and saddened Armaan Malik. He wrote, "Rest in peace #ShravanRathod sir.. I can’t believe you’re gone.. It was just last month when I was sitting next to you at the Mirchi music awards event. Totally shattered.. at a loss of words. my sincere condolences to his entire family." On the other hand, Vishal Dadlani also remembered Shravan's legacy with Nadeem in a tweet. He wrote, "That's terrible news! :( #ShravanRathod ji will live on through the music. Nadeem-Shravan didn't just have popular songs. They had their own era!".
He wrote, "Shravan bhai is no more My respects and condolences to his family. Nadeem-Shravan have given us some of the biggest hits in the 90s. Covid has taken so many lives.
