Shocking incident was reported from Tarn Taran where a low-intensity blast was reported in an area adjacent to Sarhali Police Station of Tarn Taran. As per information, Saanjh Kendra was attacked with a rocket launcher. Although no casualties were reported during the incident, but this has made the atmosphere of Punjab tensed.
Reportedly, windowpanes, glassed of the outpost and police booth got smashed during the attack. While many security agencies were claiming it to be a terrorist attack, Gurpatwant Pannu has come forward and took responsibility of the same. Pannu has stated that Punjab government has rendered the famililies who came to India during partition in Jalandhar and this must be taken as revenge for the same. Till now no official statement of senior police officials has come in the regard.
As soon as the incident was reported extra police force along with Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav also reached the spot. The area where blast was reported has been sealed and as per statement of SSP Gurmeet Singh, investigation is underway. As per statements it is suspected that the accused did not intend to harm anyone through this attack but wanted to instil people in officials as well as people of the state.
Around 7 months back similar kind of attack was reported in Punjab Police Intelligence headquarters of Mohali. During the attack name of Lakhbir Singh Landa was attached to be the main accused of the incident.
